NSW: Police inquiry resumes into Janine Vaughan's disappearance

An inquiry resumes in Sydney today .. into the police investigation of the suspected
murder of Bathurst woman JANINE VAUGHAN.

The Police Integrity Commission is examining the way officers handled the investigation
.. when local detective BRAD HOSEMANS was a person of interest in Ms VAUGHAN's disappearance.

The store manager hasn't been seen since accepting a lift outside a Bathurst nightclub
early on December 7 .. 2001.

When the commission sat for three days in the central-western city of Orange in June
.. Mr HOSEMANS .. who's a former detective sergeant .. gave evidence that he'd inquired
about Ms VAUGHAN but had never spoken to her.

He's consistently claimed he was in Newcastle when Ms VAUGHAN went missing .. but said
in June he may have been in Bathurst.

Today's hearing .. before Commissioner TERRY GRIFFIN .. is expected to run for three
days .. with the PIC handing down its findings to NSW Parliament at the conclusion of
the inquiry.
